Keep Your Home Snug and Pretty With this Window Treatment

Now that it is the winter season, many Perth residents are trying to stay snug and comfortable in their homes. It is during these days that most households put a heating system to extended use, resulting in higher electricity bills.

You do not have to keep on racking up high expenses, though. With the right window treatments, you can keep the heat in, while making your home even prettier.

Shutters are some of your best options when it comes to heat-retaining window coverings. In fact, the Australian government recommends their use, as long as they are properly installed and well-placed. With these treatments, you can:

  • Allow more winter sunlight to penetrate your home.

Both internal and external shutters allow winter sun into your home, while also helping trap its heat inside. Additionally, since more natural light enters your home, you can reduce the need for turning on lights.

  • Enhance the beauty of your home.

Perth shutters are both functional and aesthetic. They come in a wide range of designs, styles, and colours, so you are not going to have a problem choosing one that best fits and complements your current décor. As they also serve as a shading system, you can protect your furniture, upholstery, and carpets from fading caused by the sun’s UV rays.

  • Keep your electric bills at a minimum.

With less need for the use of your heating system, as well as lights, you can prevent significant spikes in your electric bills. In addition, because you put less stress on your furnace, you can avoid problems with it.

Keep in mind, however, that you can only enjoy these benefits if the window coverings have been installed properly. With the guidance of a specialist, you can choose the right type and have it installed correctly for optimal warmth during winter, and maximised cooling during summer.

What I love best about window shutters is they create a strikingfocal point for the space. When I was renovating our living room two weeks ago, I had a hard time finding a certain design piece that would set the tone and mood for the room. Shutters were the answer. The neat lines of this window treatment instantly create a sophisticated vibe.

I’m thinking about installing window shutters in our bathroom. We have an awkward window in our space, it’s in the corner of the room, and it’s so hard to dress it. We’ve tried drapes and panels, only to find that the space gets more cramped… Do you think shutters will be a practical choice???
